A great book loaded with many different creative ideas! Initially i was worried that some of or many of the garnishes may be outdated considering the book was published in 1986 but the only one i found to be a little outdated were the tomato roses still really kool but everyone has used them..Otherwise i thought everything in here was great! I would gladly buy this book again I would suggest that if you are really trying to elevate your plating skills and or style that you also purchase a book that deals with actual plating and design as this book only deals with the garnishes this book makes an excellent supplement book for any plating and or food styling collection!

I recently bought a petty knife and I wanted to learn the art of garnishes. This is an older book but I feel as though it tells you alot of ways to present food and prepare vegetables in order to help make your dishes look amazing. I recommend this book because it includes pictures and step by step procedures on how to get to the end result.

Not great, not bad... some ideas are good, but the book becomes fairly useless once you learn how to make the garnish, which takes just minutes.

Must have for those in fine dining presentation, very well made, good ideas, wish there was a new printing ,

This is great inspiration, even if I've only done garnishing on occasion. Okay, busy mom here but paging through this book makes me really want to get in the kitchen and make an effort, and on some days that's an impressive accomplishment in itself.

I was impressed with the book because it was easy to follow(it wasn't confusing). I particularly like the layout of the book. The intro pages listed all the tools I needed to be successful. Wished it had a few more veggie designs. Great book.

The item is as described by seller and my copy is in good condition. However, if you are looking for a modern approach to garnishing your dishes whether you are a home cook or professional, this is not the book for you. The garnishes are very old school by any standard and I would not recommend this book to anyone. The procedures to perform the garnishes in this book are not as descriptive as other books that I've seen which may be difficult for a novice chef.
