I have 12 great grandchildren, I don't think God is their parents first priority, even though their grandparents *my three daughters" are all baptized in the spirit. , but this generation is soo busy with i-phones and other busy stuff, working moms, etc. etc. I was looking for a way to gently introduce God into their lives. After all, the most important thing they need is Jesus in their hearts. This book seemed like an answer to my prayers. Thank you, Bill Johnson.
I wanted this for my 3-4 yr old grandchildren who are not being taught about Jesus and relied on the well known author (whom I love) to produce a good teaching for children. I personally didn't find anything useful here. There is an anxiety created in the beginning that is remedied at the end with only a telling of God's goodness and provision through creation, with NO JESUS throughout the entire thing. If a child already knows much about Jesus perhaps this book would work but without Jesus there is no bread for the hungry, no light for the lost.
This has become our 7 year old daughters favorite book. We love the message that Bill has placed that no matter what the circumstances may seem to be God is always good.
Book had a really good message. Is longer and best suited for a child with a longer attention span. I got it for my 5yo. My 3yo loses interest a little easier with it. I like the message it provides. But, I think it could also have been a better analogy, so that’s the reason for 4 stars. Basically, it’s not the best written story but it gets the point across. The pictures are very good and colorful.
This book is beautifully illustrated and written in rich simplicity making the phrase "even a child can understand it" true in the most precious way! My youngest grandson is almost 2 and loves to have the book read to him.
Upon hearing the story, my little 3 year old nephew announced that he like this book and he wanted to keep it! P.S. Mummy also liked it and needed to hear its message.
It may not seem like much, but the author pulls out some very useful tools that we can use daily to remind us that God is good... even when Satan is being very bad.
I bought this book for my 6 year old grandaughter for Christmas. We both loved it. The illustrations were great and the story good. The characters were cute and the story easy for her to understand. Love this book. Love Bill Johnson!
