Very useful, a lot of additional information for parents. As a Master's Level Teacher for children with learning disabilities, I will recommend this series to parents looking for learning tools to use at home
I just started reading this set together with my 3-yo son. He is fond of the main characters in this series, Sally, Seth, and Tanner. But overall I think the stories are not very engaging or challenging. He's already exposed to the main concepts, like shapes, sizes, simple sequences, sorting and matching, from many other sources. Maybe we or his school had over-prepared him for reading but I feel that this series is not challenging enough for him and we could have probably skipped this series and gone right onto the beginning readers set. Oh, did I mention that these books are really pricey? I admit that I got them on a sale but I would probably not want to pay retail price for them.
My granddaughter loves these. We purchased them for over the summer before she starts Kindergarten. I have read another review complaining about the simplicity of the illustrations. As I said, my granddaughter loves them. Dot is her favorite. She takes them in the car and with us camping. They have inspired her to read. Would definitely recommend
My 5 year old will be starting homeschooling in a few months so I bought this set to get him ready to start reading. I have never seen him so excited about a book set before. I planned on reading him four books out of this series a day for a week or two and he wants to go through six a day. He loves the pattern book and wanted to go around the house and find things to make his own patterns. He is begging me to buy his next set of bob books!
These books are great for children learning to read. Simple and short so they don't lose interest. My issue with the books are they are very small. I was surprised at the size, I had other Bob boos that were almost twice the size and easy to hold, these are very small and lightweight. The content is great and the children love them. I don't think they will last more than a couple children.
These are for very pre-reading skills, wasn't quite what I needed with my child that already recognizes letters. Our books also came with flaws, a couple of books either had missing pages, or pages that weren't inserted correctly, so we returned our set.
Got these for my 3 year old who wanted to start learning to read like his older brother. They are good, they mostly help with learning shapes which leads to letter recognition. I should of done more research into them however, my son who already knows his letters, is not that interested in the stories that seem more like they should fit into the kindergarten reading level.
recommended by my childs pre-school. I have yet to use it as I am waiting for Christmas, but upon a sneak peak, it looks like it will be a fun read. I do however wish the book and pages were more sturdy.
